OUR ACTIVITIES & SERVICES
 
  1. The Braille press and library service the only such service provided in the whole
    of Sri Lanka.

  2. Provision of Braille and Talking Book Library facilities to Blind/VI students in
    13 residential schools in 13 districts including North and East.

  3. Eye Care Service

  4. Assisting the visually handicapped students pursuing higher studies.

  5. Rehabilitation of the war blinded and the adult blind.

  6. Providing assistance for self employment.

  7. Open Employment

  8. Death donation scheme.

  9. Free issue of white canes.

  10. Securing job opportunities for skilled blind rattan workers.

  11. Training the blind in telephone switch board operating and computer operation.

  12. Counseling.

  13. Promotion of sport for the blind.

  14. Blind Students Education Programme

  15. Enhancing Psycho Socio Development

  16. ICT Training for teachers and students of residential schools in the island.

  17. Self studying computer aids programme.

  18. Establishment of scholarship fund.

  19. Improved access to resources such as Braille media. i.e ICT.

  20. Community based children’s programme.

  21. Provide Educational, audio and assistive devices to students.

  22. Production of Braille materials.

  23. Improvement of language literacy.

  24. Development of creative performing arts.

  25. Mass media communication course for Blind/VI persons.

  26. Development of application of software for Sinhala Text to Braille and
    speech conversion.

  27. Development of application of software for Tamil Text to Braille and
    speech conversion.
